Who We Are
Hello!! We are Melissa & Shayla, Colorado adventure photographers. We met in college while studying graphic design and became like peas and carrots right away. Both of us shared a love and obsession of photography, so we quickly started shooting together. We click together! Our inspiration comes from the intimate, authentic and honest moments that happen between two people in love. The mission in life for us is to love intentionally and live adventurously.
We're both Colorado natives and love to spend our time traveling in the Rocky Mountains and beyond. Our days are usually spent getting coffee, editing photos or getting a drink here and there.
This past year, we have found a passion for creating cinematic films. We are so excited to add this tool in our tool box.
We would also like to shout our additional wedding videographer, Keith Cole, who has been a wonderful part of our team.

Our Process
When you contact Leather & Lace, you will most likely be talking with Melissa. She will assist you with picking out the perfect package for your photography and videography needs. Melissa is great at guiding each client through the booking process, and once your contract is completed and deposit is paid, you will get your complimentary engagement session scheduled.
It's engagement session day-get ready to have some fun! Shayla and Melissa are laid back and will create natural interactions between each couple that showcases their love story. Melissa & Shayla take turns on who is photographing and who is filmmaking at your session (if you book video). Once your session is completed, it takes 1-2 weeks to get your photos and/or highlight film back (images and video will be uploaded to your private online gallery).
As your wedding date approaches, we will email you our questionnaire and set up a date and time for our final meeting. We like to do this no later than 10 days before your wedding date. At the final meeting we will go over the questionnaire and make sure everything is in place so that we can give you the best experience possible!
Your big day is here! We are bursting with excitement for your big day and are ready to do our job at capturing all your memories. We are more than just photographers or filmmakers—we are go-getters and helpers. We aren't afraid to step in and help out when needed. After your wedding comes to a close, it will take us 3-4 weeks to edit your images and and 3-8 weeks for your highlight film. These are then uploaded to your private online gallery, and we contact you to schedule a time to drop off your USB.
Shayla and Melissa are a team in every area of Leather & Lace—from photographing, filming, and getting to know our clients and their love stories. Every wedding package includes both of us so you know exactly who will be there on your big day!
